After 18 months of lockdown, we are looking forward to a gradual lifting of COVID restrictions and opening up in the country and the parish. At St Patrick’s Church we have reason to celebrate this more than most, as we will be opening our Jubilee Year at a Multicultural Mass on Sunday 27th June, thanking God for 50 years in our beautiful church and 70 years since the foundation of our parish. We have so much to celebrate!
We are beginning to plan our opening Mass and need help from different groups of people in the parish. In order to include all the nations and language areas we represent, we need you to come forward and let us know what you can offer – a hymn, a bidding prayer, a reading, a dance …etc. We have a lot of parishioners from India, Philippines, Ireland and Nigeria, but we have nobody from these countries on our liturgy group. There may also be groups from other countries who could sing, or individuals who could read in their own language. To get involved, please speak with Aziza, Sophia, Ewa or Sr Frances after Mass.
Did you make or know someone who made their First Holy Communion at St Patrick’s Church? If you have any photographs, please take them along to St Patrick’s Church as soon as possible so they can be added to the display in time for this year’s sacraments at the end of June.
